10 FUN FITNESS TIPS

  1. Incorporate as many colors as possible into your dinner – you will likely end up with quite a healthy meal, as the color variety  comes from veggies and fruits.


  2. Go sugar free for a week – see how you feel.  Is your energy level any different?  Your waistband any looser?


  3. Bring your lunch to work once a week – and eat it outside.  That way you can enjoy the outdoors with your own healthy choices instead of being rushed and grabbing whatever is available.


  4. Play Frisbee at the beach – maybe your dog or a friend would oblige you.  And, make sure to wear sunscreen.


  5. Set a goal to organize a closet this month – it burns more calories than watching TV.  You may have to organize one closet every month!


  6. Start your own vegetable garden – even if it’s just one vegetable.  You can grow your plants without chemicals and be active while gardening.


  7. Make a list – before you go to bed of everything you have to do the next day.  This can help you get to sleep quicker and sleep more peacefully, which is more important to health than most of us realize (or want to admit).  The body needs rest to grow and recuperate, so get a good night sleep if you want the maximum benefit from your workouts.


  8. Use applesauce – as a replacement for ½ the butter or oil called for in cakes and brownies.  You won’t miss the hundreds of calories or any of the taste.  If you don’t tell anyone, they’ll never know the difference.


  9. Instead of driving to a nearby destination – walk or ride your bike.  It’s amazing how little a distance we will drive.


  10. Buy an herb you’ve never tried before – and use it on a salad or in an omelet.  Eating healthfully doesn’t have to be bland.
